教会の玄関に咲いている薔薇が増えて通りにまではみ出しているので、妻が教会の人たちと一緒に剪定をした。そのまま捨てるのには忍びないと家に持って帰って活けることに。
見事に咲いていて、蕾もいっぱいある。わが家の鉢植えの薔薇よりはるかに元気だ。見てるだけではもったいないので、スケッチした。
The roses at the entrance of the church were sticking out and could have annoyed passers-by. My wife and other church members cut off some of them. But as it was too sad to throw them away, she brought them home to decorate the room. They are blooming gorgeously and have a lot of buds. They are much livelier than those at my house. I sketch them to keep their beauty.
